Does Milling a Slide Weaken it?

Having a slide milled does not weaken the pistol’s slide, in fact, it may even improve the overall performance of the gun! Depending on if you choose to reduce the weight of your gun, make it optic-ready, or allow for better slide return, the result is likely an improvement. 

How does Milling Affect the Slide?

     Milling a slide is a process by which a company will use a CNC machine to cut and redesign a slide. These types of machines would typically be used on a variety of materials such as metal and some plastics. In today's market companies such as ourselves, will use these types of machines to make slides “optic ready”. By doing this you do take away some of the material of the slide, however, this does not mean it weakens it in any way.
